Dora Correia – Director ACP, Asia, Trade & Sustainable Development, Green Deal

Ms Correia joined the European Commission in 1996, after a few years in academics. During her career, she worked in a number of different policies: employment and social policies; justice and home affairs; fisheries and ocean governance. Ms Correia was also a member of a Vice-President’s private office and led several negotiations with other EU institutions. Her responsibilities included policy development and coordination; oversight of financial and human resources; negotiation and relations between EU institutions and with EU Member States; leading and managing teams. Since May 2022, Ms Correia is Director for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific, Asia (II), Trade and Sustainable Development and Green Deal in DG TRADE. She is responsible for trade and investment policy towards the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific regions and South and South East Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand; she also oversees the design and implementation of EU policy on Trade and Sustainability, inter alia, the promotion of international environmental and labour standards, responsible business conduct and the protection of the environment (including the climate) in accordance with the European Green Deal strategy. Ms Correia graduated with honours in International Relations and Political Science in Lisbon and holds a Master of European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
